Effervescence is a fancy word for bubbling to the surface. That's what I feel the painting reflects. All the twisting and turning shapes cross over one another, tangling into a form captured in this full image. The layering helps show this movement and accentuates the depth of the shapes recessing into the picture and extruding out. To take it a step further, I wanted to zoom in on the painting to enhance the layering and give you a closer look into the work. I also played with the color by limiting my pallet to monochromatic values. The use of color shows the forms bubble up to the surface. It starts as a grey-toned image, and as each section rises to the surface, a new color is added. Again I limited my pallet to maintain the monochromatic vibe throughout the piece. I wanted the painting to use bold colors but not be overwhelming, giving it a soothing image to get lost in.
Effervescence is multiple layers inside a shadow box frame and numerous frames in one big image. The idea behind making this piece and my other Zoomed paintings are I would always see people looking at my art in a show or at someone's house. They would always get very close to the glass, looking inside to see how it was made. So I thought, why not help and make a closer look like part of the painting? This is where the idea of a Zoomed View was born.
The painting is zoomed in 125% and placed over the image, and the main image is a magnified view in each section you see in this painting. There is a lot of planning that goes into making this. It may look like it has many stacked framed pictures, but it's made into one big painting. The frames you see are fully connected and part of the whole image. It's an exciting piece and will make a great addition to any collection.
The piece is constructed of multiple layers and is encapsulated in a custom wood frame.
Due to the size of this piece, special freight arrangements will need to be made.
